Biblical Stewardship of Your Second Half: Time, Talent, and Treasure
Stewardship after 50 is not about preservation. It is about deployment while you still have runway.

The financial industry markets one idea to women over 50: protect what you have. Reduce risk. Preserve capital. Do not make mistakes.
It is not wrong, exactly. It is incomplete, and taken alone it produces a woman who arrives at 75 with an intact balance sheet and an unused decade.
Three accounts to steward, not one
Time
You likely have twenty-five to thirty-five productive years. Audit where the hours actually go for two weeks. Most women find eight to twelve hours a week being spent on obligations they never consciously chose. That is a part-time enterprise's worth of capacity.
Talent
Skills depreciate when idle. Deploy them: teach, advise, serve on a board, build the thing you keep describing to friends. Capability that is never used is capability being quietly written off.
Treasure
Money that is merely preserved is money doing nothing for anyone. Give at a level you feel. Invest in productive assets. Fund a younger person's start. Put capital where it multiplies rather than where it merely sits.
The parable was not about the servant who lost the money. It was about the one who buried it safely.
The practical audit
- What am I holding that is producing nothing?
- What would I do with this decade if I were not afraid of using it up?
- Who benefits if I deploy well, and who is harmed if I do not?
Preservation is a strategy for the last five years. You are not in the last five years.
