Standing for Biblical Truth When It Costs You Something
Convictions that have never been priced have never been tested. Here is how to pay the bill and remain standing.

It is easy to hold a position that costs nothing. The test arrives when the position costs a client, a friendship, a promotion, or a seat at a table you worked years to reach.
Most people discover in that moment that they held an opinion rather than a conviction.
Decide before the pressure arrives
Write down, in advance, the two or three things you will not do for money. Be specific. Vague principles collapse under specific pressure. Written ones tend to hold, because you are no longer deciding in the moment — you are keeping an appointment with yourself.
Price it honestly
- What is the realistic financial exposure, in dollars and in months?
- Who else is affected — employees, family, partners — and have you consulted them?
- Is this the hill, or is it merely the nearest hill?
Not every disagreement is a test of faith. Spending your credibility on small things leaves nothing for the moment that matters.
Build the reserves that make it possible
Courage is partly a balance sheet. Savings, diversified income, low fixed costs, and a network that would take your call are what allow a woman to say no without her family absorbing the consequence. Build them in calm seasons.
Stand without becoming bitter
Say what you believe once, clearly. Do not campaign. Do not require others to validate you. Then get back to work and let your production be the closing argument.
The bill comes. Pay it, keep your composure, and keep building. That is what a tested conviction looks like from the outside.
